GTA VI: official announcement timeline

Rockstar publishes the first GTA VI trailer. Its official page gives December 4, 2023 as the publication date. This milestone marks the game’s video reveal.

The second trailer is published on May 6, 2025. It expands the GTA VI reveal; the character, location and story entries distinguish official descriptions from interpretations of footage.

Rockstar presents An Extended Look, dated August 27, 2026 in the official video listing. Its dedicated entry brings together documented information about this material.

The release date and platforms may receive new announcements. The related entries below track these details separately to preserve their context and sources. A publication date in this timeline should not be confused with the game’s release date.

This page selects verified milestones; it does not claim to list every statement. Rumors and forecasts are not included as official announcements. Each new milestone must include its date and a primary source.
