What time in France?
ObservedThe French PlayStation Store listing shows a release on November 18, 2026 at 23:00 UTC. France will be on winter time (UTC+1) by then, so GTA 6 unlocks on Thursday, November 19, 2026 at 00:00 Paris time, in the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
Other European countries on UTC+1, such as Belgium or Switzerland, should follow the same schedule. This time comes from Sony’s store, not from a Rockstar announcement.
Local midnight, country by country
ObservedOn PS5, the game unlocks at midnight in each region’s time zone. New Zealand goes first on November 18 at 11:00 UTC, which is noon in Paris and about twelve hours before France.
In the United States, the store shows 05:00 UTC on November 19: midnight on the East Coast, 9:00 PM on November 18 on the West Coast and 06:00 in Paris. The full rollout spans about fifteen windows over roughly 19 hours.
What about Xbox Series X|S?
UnconfirmedThe official Xbox page confirms the November 19, 2026 release, but no unlock time is clearly displayed yet, and neither Microsoft nor Rockstar has specified it. Storefronts often use the same local-midnight approach, but this is not confirmed for GTA 6.
Pre-loading from November 12
ObservedThe PlayStation Store listing shows pre-loading seven days before release, from Thursday, November 12, 2026. Several outlets attribute this date to Rockstar, starting at local midnight on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Pre-loading applies to digital pre-orders. According to the same outlets, the boxed edition contains a download code, so the download can only start once the box has arrived. The game’s file size is not official yet.
What is not official yet
UnconfirmedRockstar has only confirmed the November 19, 2026 date. The times on this page come from the stores and may still change: it will be updated as soon as an official time is published.
The homepage countdown targets midnight in your browser’s time zone, which matches the time listed on the PlayStation Store.
Playing earlier by switching region?
Community analysisA tip is circulating: set your console or account to New Zealand to get the first window, about 12 hours before France. Nothing guarantees it will work for GTA 6.
On PS5, a PlayStation Network account’s region cannot be changed: you would need a separate New Zealand account, and the game would have to be bought on it. On Xbox, the unlock time is not even known yet. Better not to rely on it.
