Rockstar Games anticipates a shorter wait for its next game after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. Phil Hooker, the head of development, shared that the studio has expanded its workforce and upgraded its technology significantly during GTA 6's lengthy development. This advancement is expected to facilitate quicker production for future titles. Hooker noted, "The engine, the tools, and the team we've built during this project will allow us to do things more quickly." He emphasized a strategic focus on enhancing established foundations rather than reinventing technology for new games. The development team's growth from 2,441 employees at the time of Red Dead Redemption 2 to 4,711 across 12 offices is noteworthy. Historically, Rockstar has shown it can create new games swiftly using existing technology, evidenced by the rapid release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City following GTA 3. However, no specific details about future titles have been confirmed yet. Currently, the focus for Rockstar remains firmly on the upcoming GTA 6, which is set for release on November 19, 2026, and is expected to be a major entertainment event with substantial sales projections.
